Creation Space
The Cirebon Regency Creative Space is an initiative of the Cirebon Regency Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar) which exists as a means of preserving art and culture, as well as a forum for developing the community's creative economy. The establishment of this facility reflects the government's commitment to encouraging the growth of local creativity rooted in regional cultural values. This facility was built at the end of 2024 with support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf). At the beginning of 2025, Ruang Kreasi will begin to be widely introduced to the public through outreach targeting various creative economy actors in Cirebon Regency. This place is designed to support activities in 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, including performing arts, crafts, culinary, fashion and fine arts. Strategically located on Jalan Otto Iskandardinata, Weru Lor, Weru District—right next to the Cirebon Batik Market—Ruang Kreasi is now a gathering and activity place for the arts community and local creative businesses. Its easy-to-reach location provides high accessibility for people who want to participate in creative and cultural activities. Public interest in this facility continues to increase as opportunities for collaboration and space use are opened by various communities. One of the communities that has used the Kreasi Room is Sanggar Intan Ayu, which routinely uses this place for Mask Dance practice every Wednesday and Saturday. The presence of a community like this indicates that the Kreasi Space has begun to become part of an active and productive arts ecosystem in Cirebon. Overall, the Cirebon Regency Creative Space is expected to be able to become a center for creative activities that not only supports cultural preservation, but also encourages the creation of new economic opportunities. As the number of communities involved continues to increase, it is believed that this facility will become a space for growing innovation and cross-sector collaboration that strengthens cultural identity and local economic competitiveness.
