Mobile Cinema Car
The Mobile Cinema Car is one of the innovations of the Cirebon Regency Government in introducing and reinstilling local cultural values โโin the younger generation. This initiative was born as a response to concerns about the cultural crisis that is hitting society, especially among young people, due to the rapid flow of information from social media which often does not favor local wisdom. This car is a donation from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, and is currently in the yard of the Cirebon Regency Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports Office (Disbudparpora). Even though its existence has been welcomed positively, the film playback equipment in the car is not yet complete, so it cannot be operated directly to reach the public. The Head of the Cirebon Regency Culture and Youth and Sports Department, H. Hartono, expressed his concern about the decline in cultural understanding among the younger generation. He believes that social media, which is global and not limited by space and time, has shifted the attention of the younger generation from local culture to foreign culture. Therefore, the presence of a mobile cinema car is a strategic step in touching back on people's cultural awareness through a more interesting and fun approach. The plan is that this mobile cinema car will be used to screen films with Cirebon cultural themes in various villages on a rotating basis, especially at night. This activity will be accompanied by special officers tasked with carrying and operating cars, as well as providing education to the public regarding the importance of maintaining and preserving regional culture. Through this program, the Cirebon Regency Government hopes to revive the spirit of love of culture in society, especially among youth. It is hoped that film screenings in village open spaces will attract residents' curiosity and become an effective means of conveying cultural messages visually. With a contemporary approach, the mobile cinema car becomes a bridge between tradition and the current generation.
